Chair Exercise

When: Weekly on Thursday afternoons
Venue: Methodist Church - small hall

This group offers a safe, low-impact way to work on balance, strength and flexibility, without the need to get down onto a mat! Although the group will be focused initially on these three areas, sessions will no doubt develop to reflect the emerging needs and wishes of the participants. To start with we will focus on seated exercises. We might find as time goes on that using the chair as a prop to support some standing moves might also be an option. We might use stretch bands or even light weights for some of the exercises later in the course but at no time will anyone be asked or expected to do anything with which they might feel uncomfortable. As well as people who might not want to do a mat-based class, the group might also be of interest to anyone wanting to get started on exercise, or people who simply want to follow a more gentle exercise regime. The session will last for 45 minutes and we stay for refreshments afterwards, organised on a rota basis.
